DRAGON SLAYER PROGRAM

Our Dragon Slayer program is aimed at getting kids on the mats to develop their BJJ skills while also diving into the Word. Our goal is to train mind, body and spirit to develop into a balanced human being. We offer physical fitness with BJJ, faith-building with our Bible lesson, and academic success with our academic achievement goal setting. We want to see your child succeed in all aspects of life and are here to help them develop the discipline needed to such a thing!

FAQs

  • At CMFA we are dedicated to helping our community have access to affordable programs for themselves and their families- with a desire to see people have fun in fellowship, fitness and self-confidence- but mostly to grow in Christ. Feel free to come try out our classes with no obligation- however, should you decide to continue- we ask you to consider supporting the program. We do not demand anything from those wishing to join but rather have a suggested honorarium that we would ask individuals to prayerfully consider donating to help us allay the costs associated with rent, uniforms and equipment.

Should you not be able to afford our suggestions, please do not make that a barrier to having you participate. Just talk to us to see what might be affordable for you- and we will always find a way- even if you cannot afford anything at this time!

  • A. 1 child (ages 5-14) - $20 per month

2nd child from same family – additional $10 per month

3 or more children from the same family- $40 per month

We have uniforms that can be used for free while your child tries the class. Should your child want to continue, we ask you to consider a $50 donation for that (includes a CMFA patch)

Badges/crests- $6-$10, depending on the patch.

    B. Adults $20 per month. Uniforms are provided for free while you try out the class and can be ordered to size, at cost of $75.

Donations can be given in cash or e-transfers to bookkeeper@crossroadsingersoll.ca with a note attached of “CMFA” or “Crossroads Martial Fitness Academy”

  • No! This self-defense is for everyone. We always have new people coming out so you won't be alone. All of our fundamental classes are beginning friendly!

  • Definitely! We welcome people from all faith backgrounds, or even if you have none at all. Our Dragon Slayer and Junior Dragon Slayer program incorporates a bible lesson and prayer and adult classes start and end with a prayer.

  • Yes! We are affiliated with and supported by Professor David Dominy (4th Degree Black Belt in BJJ) who will grade eligible students.

  • - Shower at some point beforehand and keep finger and toe nails trimmed.

    - Dress in a clean uniform with some type of undershirt or athletic shirt underneath.

    - Bring a pair of flip flops or shoes for off-the-mat use (e.g., washroom trips) this help us keep the mats clean.

    - Bring a water bottle.

    - Be mindful to respect instructors and other students/adults helping out with class, and to be respectful to partners you will be exercising with to help keep everyone safe - and to have fun!

*Please note that this is a contact sport. Mouthguards and groin protectors are optional but highly recommended.

  • We ask that you stay on the premises during class in case of emergency (whether its physical or a bathroom emergency for our youngest students)! We encourage you to watch and listen as your child receives instruction during class so that you can learn, somewhat, what they are learning and also intervene if they are not paying attention. We have a lot of kids on the mats and our leaders are focussed on teaching BJJ to them. If you notice your child is not paying attention and is becoming a distraction for others, we ask that you remove your shoes, come on the mats and gently remove them so they can take a breather before joining class again.
